FitsNavigator can open simple single-image FITS (Flexible Image Transport System) files, with simple manipulation. The app will show FITS files from you downloads, documents, and camera folders; or can open images sent from file navigators.
Using FitsNavigator Note Google drastically changed file permissions in Fits Navigator. In later versions of droid, this app will not load FITs files. Update to software is greatly delayed When started from the launcher, Fits Navigator will scan the Downloads, Documents, and Photos folders for .fits, .fts., and .fit files. Please note, those file extensions may be used by filetypes other than fits image format, leading to invalid image entries. FitsNavigator can open only simple fits: one header, one 2d image. Clicking the image will open the viewer, which will display in tabs the image, the header, and the histogram. The image will be displayed grayscale; currently debayering is not supported.
Image Viewer You will see 3 tabs: Image: This displays the image, non debayered, in grayscale; Header: This shows the fits header information, and is read-only Histograph: This shows the histograph. You may drag the sliders to adjust the dynamic range of image; the lower slider represents the lower end, and the upper slider represents the upper end. Alternatively enter type the lower and upper range and press the green set button. Tap back to the image tab to review changes. Save Button: This will save the image as png in the original folder, at a smaller size.
From Droid File Managers When using a file manager, clicking on a fits file *may* lead to opening with FitsNavigator. Some apps, ex some Samsung "My Files" app, do not recognize fits image files, and refuse to attempt to process. For some file managers, when opening the file, you will need to select it as an image. At that point, FitsNavigator should appear in the list of available apps to open.
